Meet the Team- Babs Sivaharan


 

The accounts team has a lot to handle, but you might not know what exactly it is they do. We did interviews with the team to get to know them better! Learn more about Babs and all her hard work managing the accounts team.

Babs is the Accounts Manager and has been working with Accounts Admin for over 5 years. She is based in the UK and manages her Accounts team based in Spain, making sure they carry on daily tasks such as credit control and making sure payments are made on time. Amongst other duties, she deals with clients as well as artist queries and VAT accounts for all UK agencies. Babs enjoys reading and doing yoga and she is a firm believer that positive thinking is the way to live, spreading those vibes within the team by sharing a positive affirmation every day. Her Favourite book is Secret & The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle.

 

What is your role at Accounts Admin? 

          Accounts Manager

What is a typical work day for you? 

          I normally deal with issues with artists or clients and try to resolve them as smoothly as possible and make sure we have enough cash flow to pay all our artists in a timely manner and manage my accounts team. Managing travel costs for the company. 

How did you get into account administration? 

          I’ve been working in the Accounts industry for nearly 15 years, I love numbers.

What are you known for amongst your coworkers? 

          I asked my team they told me (you are our best support/good sense of humor/always here to help/Good vibes ) hahaha

What is something you wish people knew about your role? 

          I am the Glue that keeps the accounts team together and solves problems and a helping hand 🙂

What do you like most about working with talent agencies and creative businesses? 

          I have discovered a whole new sector I never knew existed, I am not a creative person. I get to see beautiful illustrations and amazing artwork

Do you consider yourself creative? At work or personally? 

          No, I don’t actually. I am not creative at all, but since working with this agency I started to understand a bit more. 

Where do you work from? (general location/ time zone) and What is your favorite part about this area? 

          I work in the UK near Wimbledon I lived here for nearly 31 years in a beautiful area with beautiful parks & Wimbledon tennis, of course, an Amazing Buddhist temple.

What advice would you give to artists or authors managing their own accounts? 

          Artists, I would say need to know how to use the portal this would help them if they need to get paid on time.
